If connecting with MIDI cables, ensure that you connect the controller to the MPC Renaissance with both the MIDI Ins and the MIDI Outs, as information will be sent both ways.**If you choose to connect it via the MIDI Out port from the MPK/MPD, be sure to power the MPK/MPD controller with a power supply (purchased separately) rather than the USB connection only or it may not send MIDI information correctly from its MIDI Out port. If connecting with a USB cable, connect either directly to your computer or to one of the USB ports physically on the MPC Renaissance.
This will upload the settings you chose to the associated Preset on the LPK25.Ĭlose the Preset editor, open the MPC software, set your settings in the MPC software as suggested above, and play away!Ĭonnect your MPK/MPD via USB or MIDI. **For further information on MIDI Clock, MIDI Time Code (MTC), MIDI Machine Control, and a lot more great information on MIDI, check out this link. Also, your specific controller may also need to be set correctly to receive external MIDI time code. Remember – in order for you to hear the Arpeggiator working correctly, the software must be playing or recording. The MPC software is now correctly set to send MIDI Clock syncing information to your compatible MIDI controller! Add a checkmark in the first box under the To section and choose your MIDI controller or the correct MIDI Out port in the To drop-down menu (we chose the Akai LPK25 in the example below).
In the window that opens, choose MIDI Clock in the Send drop-down menu.
